Jewelry Artist Sunghee Kim



Sunghee Kim, jewelry designer, correspondent of JoongAngIlbo S magazine has more than 25 years experience as a jewelry designer. Sunghee has appeared as a jewelry designer in many international publications (Vogue Gioiello, Dreams, JWF, l’OrafoItaliano, Collection Magazine, Luxury, HongKongJeweller, JQ Magazine, Jewelry Outlook Magazine and many others). Her origins are from Korea, but she is Italian by adoption. Sunghee moved to Milan after obtaining her degree in Oriental Arts in Seoul, Korea. In 1998 she gained her Diploma in jewelry Design from IED- IstitutoEuropeo di Design of Milan. She has been the finalist and winner of multiple national and international competitions, such as the Tahitian Pearl Trophy (2008), Gold Virtuosi of WGC (2000), Diamonds International Awards (2000), Motorola v3688 presentation project (1999), 4th place of the ‘La Dolce Vita di SWAROVSKI’ competition (1998), Diamonds Modern Women (1995) and Diamond Today (1993). She has collaborated with many national and international jewelry houses such as Damiani, A.Jaffe, Core Jewelry and many others. Since 2003 she has been working as artistic director of the high jewelry company Azuelos. In Korea, 2009, Sunghee was nominated to participate in the launch event of Perrier-Jouet as jewelry artist, along with the greatest artists of every sector.  In 2013 she’s curated “8 Variazioni per Stradivari” exhibition in Cremona at Museo Civico Ala Ponzone. She has written 8 books, including her latest publication “Luxury Jewelry Marketing”.
From 2017 she is faculty member of Politecnico di Milano Master “Color Design & Technology”.
